Agora explores themes of anxiety, sensation, and the unconscious through narrative illustration. This short comic focuses on agoraphobia and the suffocating sense of panic that can accompany leaving the comfort of home. The story follows a character who attempts to leave her home, all the while being stalked by the anxiety that roars at her from within.

Through the use of moody tones, surreal distortions, and symbolic motifs to convey the contradictions of safety and fear: bodily sensations become external, thoughts turn into self-deprecation, and harsh, rough strokes that blur the lines of consciousness. This visual language allows readers to be immersed in the mental and emotional landscape of agoraphobia.

The comic format is intimate, portable, and accessible. In the gallery, the comic was available for viewing alongside a poster of the cover and the original pages. This dual presentation creates a tension between the handheld and the mesmeric, echoing the enveloping isolation and frustration at the heart of the work. Ultimately, my goal is to foster empathy and recognition, inviting viewers to see the often invisible weight of anxiety made tangible and the disregarded struggle of walking out the door.
